MOSAIC checkride.
An interest story about where some of our pilots have come from.
Sunshine Flyers Flight School, out of Auburn California, has been a pretty good source of producing Sport Pilots for checkrides in S-LSA aircraft over the years.
Katie was flying their SportStar S-LSA which I have done a number of Sport Pilot checkrides in. For some reason, the SportStar needed maintenance, so Katie switched over to the Cessna 152, got trained and took her sport pilot checkride in the Cessna 152.
Great example of how MOSAIC can help aviators by providing more airplanes for sport pilots.
I typically fly from Carson City Nevada to the Sacramento Valley to do for sport pilot checkrides. We had delayed this checkride a number of times, with the fog in the Sacramento Valley, but it retreated this morning just west of Auburn, so I could get in and out to do the checkride.
Turns out Katie and her Private Pilot husband are almost finished with building a Sonex Legacy, which they will both be able to fly.
